Choi Ji-joon has recorded his first hit in four games

Choi Ji-joon (33), who is looking to rebuild his career with the New York Mets in Major League Baseball (MLB), has recorded his first hit in four games in an exhibition game.

Choi went 1-for-4 with a walk and an RBI in the No. 7 spot in the lineup against the Miami Marlins in the 2024 MLB Baseball Classic at Clover Park in Port St. Lucie, Florida, on Monday (Aug. 18).

It was his first hit in eight days and four games since April 10 against the St. Louis Cardinals. Choi is now batting .222 (6-for-27) in the exhibition game.

The hit came in his first at-bat of the second inning.

Choi singled to right off Miami left-hander Luis Palacios with two outs and runners on second and third.

Jose Iglesias flied out to left field to end the inning.

He was hitless in his next at-bat. 안전놀이터 He hit a fly ball to left field in the fifth inning and struck out in the seventh. In the bottom of the ninth, he led off with a single to straightaway right field.

Choi, who will be a free agent after the 2023 season, signed a split contract with the Mets last month (different terms for major league and minor league stints) and has been playing in exhibition games as a guest player.

The Mets won 7-6 on Iglesias’ game-winning home run with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning.
