Shin Joo-hwan of Anyang City dreams of being a ‘dedicated’ player

“I’m aiming for a 3-inning 9K perfect game”…‘Park Gun-woo fan’

“I’m aiming for a three-inning, nine-strikeout perfect game.”

Shin Joo-hwan (Anyang City Wannabe Youth Baseball Team) started the game against the Baekho Gwacheon Youth Baseball Team in the inaugural My Daily Bae National Youth Baseball Tournament at Hwaseong Baseball Park on April 22 and pitched three innings, striking out six and allowing one run (unearned).

Shin started the game by retiring the first three batters he faced. After a four-run first inning, he gave up a leadoff walk to Hwang Hyun-dong in the top of the second and a throwing error that allowed a run to score after Cho Hee-chan singled. In the third, he gave up a strikeout walk to load the bases with two outs, but retired the next batter on a fly ball to left field.

The Youth League limits pitchers to three innings.

Anyang City won 6-2 and advanced to the semifinals behind a strong pitching performance from Shin Joo-hwan and a three-hit performance from Kim Ro-hoon.

After the game, Shin Ju-hwan said, “It was Gwacheon. I was nervous because they are a good team, but the ball was better than I thought, so I was fine,” Shin said.

Shin was a one-inning pitcher until last year, but this season he has been a full-time starter. “I’m not nervous,” he said. I just trust and throw well and good results will come. I always believe in myself and throw as I usually do,” he said.

Shin has grown increasingly fascinated with baseball, which he started as a hobby. “I always liked baseball,” he said. I started it as a hobby a 토토사이트 추천 long time ago, but I think I like it better now,” he said, adding, ”I support the NC Dinos. I like it with my friends.”

His favorite player in NC is Park Gun-woo. “It was so cool to see him hit a home run in the outfield,” Shin said, ”and I like him a lot because he solves problems when he has a chance.”

“I want to win the quarterfinals tomorrow and then go to the finals to lift the trophy,” he said, adding that his personal goal is to pitch a perfect game of three innings with nine strikeouts.

“I want to pitch hard for my team and always have a good record, and I want to be a pitcher that my teammates always support and believe in,” Son said.

Meanwhile, the 1st My Daily Bae National Youth Baseball Tournament, hosted by My Daily and organized by the Korea Youth Baseball Federation, is specially sponsored by Hwaseong-gun, Hwaseong-gun Sports Association, Korea Sports Promotion Agency, and Sportsoto. In addition, Lotte Tourism Development, DOCC, SK Magic, GPLUS, Boryeong Healthcare, Pulmun, Dong Aotsuka, and MediCube are sponsors.
