16-year-old and half Hyojin, please say something to your high school classmates

In the women’s 10-meter air rifle final at the Chatoru Shooting Center in France on Monday (Korea time), Ban finished 251.8 in the women’s 10m individual finals at the 2024 Paris Olympics, and shot 10.4 points in the shoot-off to win the gold medal. It was the youngest ever gold medal in Korean shooting history and South Korea’s 100th gold medal at the Olympics.

Ban Hyo-jin won the gold medal with 251.8 points until his 24th shot, beating Hwang Whitting, who shot 10.3 with 10.4 from his doomed final shot-off shot.

In an interview after the awards ceremony, Ban Hyo-jin said, “It’s such an honor and I wonder if I can take this precious gold medal. I want to leave more than that in the future.”

Regarding future goals, he said, “I’ve stopped starting well, but I’ll go up to the point where people say, ‘How long will he go up?'”

As a high school student, I asked my classmates for a word, and he said, “Guys, I know how much you support me. I won a gold medal thanks to you.”
