Junkit Iaocoon records 7pct jump on rolling chips in July

Iao Kun Group Holding Company Ltd., a Nasdaq-listed Macau casino junket promoter, reported rolling chip sales of $1.6 billion in July, up 7% from a year earlier. It said in a statement released Monday that the win rate for the month was 2.32%.

Last week, Macau’s gaming regulators reported that the country’s casinos’ gross gaming revenue fell 3.6 percent in July from a year ago. Some analysts blamed the drop in Macau’s gross gaming revenue on the decline in VIP play.

In the first seven months of 2014, Iao Kun’s rolling chip turnover was US$11.03 billion, up a monthly average of US$1.58 billion and 10% year-over-year, the company said.

Iao Kun operates five VIP rooms in Macau, located in StarWorld, Galaxy Macau, Sands Cotai Central, City of Dreams, and Le Royal Arc.

The company formally applied for listing in Hong Kong in June.
