‘Popularity explosion’ Nagelsmann to look for new team before Euro 2020

Germany national team coach Julian Nagelsmann, who has been the subject of interest from several clubs, will look for a new team before the start of Euro 2020.

Nagelsmann was interviewed at the German national team roster press conference on Thursday (July 14). ”If a club comes in with an offer that I am happy with, I will most likely sign with them before Euro 2020. But at the moment, nothing has been decided.”

Nagelsmann is currently in charge of the German national team. After successful spells at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig, Nagelsmann took over as Bayern Munich coach in 2021 at the age of just 34. In his first season in Munich, he led the Bavarians to the top of the German DFL-Supercup and the Bundesliga title in the 2021-22 season.

However, Munich fell apart under Nagelsmann in 2022-23. They won the DFL-Supercup, but slipped to second place after a 1-2 loss to Leverkusen in the 25th round. The club eventually fired Nagelsmann and hired Thomas Tuchel. The move proved successful. Since Tuchel’s arrival, the Bavarians have pulled off an upset in the 34th round of the league.

Nagelsmann, who was sacked by Munich, took over from Hanji Flick in September last year. His contract runs until Euro 2024. The team was in a bad mood after a 1-4 loss to Japan, but Nagelsmann quickly reorganized the squad and turned things around with a 3-1 away win against the United States on his debut.

However, during the A-Match last November, Nagelsmann had to accept disastrous results. The team suffered a shock 2-3 defeat against Turkiye and a 0-2 loss against Austria. In both games, Nagelsmann’s Germany were outclassed not only tactically but also in terms of shots and shots on target. Nagelsmann was also criticized for his player selection.

In recent years, Nagelsmann has been receiving a lot of interest from European clubs. First, Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp and FC Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez 토토사이트 are stepping down at the end of the season. Nagelsmann is one of the candidates to take over at Liverpool. He is also on the shortlist to succeed Xavi at Barcelona. Borussia Dortmund are also keeping an eye on Nagelsmann.

The German national team is also preparing for a change after Euro 2024. They want to appoint Klopp, who is stepping down as Liverpool manager. “The German Football Association wants Klopp as the coach of the 2026 World Cup,” the German newspaper Sport Bild reported on June 6. As planned, they will persuade Klopp to take over in March 2025 after he takes a sabbatical.”

Before Euro 2024, Nagelsmann wants to decide on his next club. Nagelsmann’s young age and proven ability should make it easy for him to get offers from other clubs. Nagelsmann’s popularity is exploding. Will he get his wish and choose his next club before Euro 2024?
