The lottery to determine the draft ranking of professional basketball rookies will be held on the 14th.The KBL announced on the 13th that “the 2023 KBL Rookie Draft Ranking Lottery will be held on the 14th at 11am at the KBL Centre in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.”The rookie draft ranking lottery will be divided into the first and second rounds, with different probabilities assigned based on the final ranking of the previous season. The first round will determine positions 1-4.Wonju DB, Suwon KT, Daegu KOGAS and Seoul Samsung, who did not make it to the playoffs (PO) last season, will each be assigned a 16 per cent chance in the first draw, followed by Ulsan Hyundai Mobis and Busan KCC, who made it to the quarterfinals, at 12 per cent, and Changwon LG and Goyang Sono, who made it to the fourth round, at 5 per cent. Runners-up Seoul SK have a 1.5 per cent chance of being allocated a draw ball, while overall winners Anyang eongwanjang have a 0.5 per cent chance .The top two teams from the six teams that did not receive the first four spots will be allocated the ninth and 10th spots, and the remaining four teams will play a second draw .The second draw for positions 5-8 will be conducted in the reverse order of last season’s regular season standings with a 40%, 30%, 20% and 10% probability. The ranking draw will be attended by the club secretaries and broadcast live on OTT platform SPOTV NOW, YouTube’s KBLTV and Africa TV.
