New York Building Commissioner Involved in Gambling Controversy

Eric Ulrich, New York City’s architectural director, has been embroiled in a gambling controversy. 카지노사이트 Not long ago, a former city council member from Queens was questioned by authorities as part of an illegal gambling investigation. Ulrich was allegedly approached by investigators near his Rockaway Park home, and his phone was seized on a search warrant.

The purpose of the investigation, launched by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg, is not clear. However, according to a source, the investigation is linked to Ulrich’s pre-term conduct in Mayor Eric Adam’s government. As of now, it is unclear what crimes the building commissioner was charged with or whether he was questioned about others.

Back in 2018, when he was a member of the city council, Mr. Ulrich wrote a letter on an official phrase in support of a voter. The group was the famous Bonanno Crime Association, which was awaiting sentencing for federal prosecution for illegal gambling debt collection. However, it remains to be seen whether the letter in question is subject to investigation.

Mr Ulrich declined to comment on the situation. Fabien Levy, a spokesman for Mr. Adams, said in a statement that City Hall was not aware of the investigation. However, he said that if the investigation is ongoing, City Hall will expect all members to cooperate fully. Moreover, Mr. Ulrich’s position as head of the building department has not changed.

The investigation department deals with crimes and corruption that city employees may commit, but is not yet involved in the current building commission’s investigation. Sources say this is because the act predates Ulrich’s appointment, and may not be related to his term in Parliament.

It should be noted that Mr. Ulrich has a history of gambling. In 2016, he admitted to the Conflict of Interest Commission that he won by gambling between $5,000 and $47,999. It is not uncommon for Mr Adams to recruit people for his administration with a troubled past. The mayor said he was a fan of giving people a second chance because he was arrested as a teenager.

Recently, the New York Police Department cracked down on an outdoor casino in Columbus Park in Lower Manhattan. Numerous middle-aged and elderly gamblers gathered at the site, set up tents, and made large bets. However, in late October, authorities interfered with illegal gambling and dismantled their open-air restaurants.

NYPD warns locals that people caught gambling risk misdemeanor charges for disorderly conduct. However, this is nothing compared to the criminal charges and jail time you will face if you are caught for illegal gambling operations. Those convicted of facilitating gambling could face up to four years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
