Chaduri joins Klinsmann as coach; Michael Kim likely to step down

Chaduri will serve as Klinsmann’s coach.Michael Kim is most likely to resign

Men’s national soccer coach Michael Kim (Korean name Kim Young-min) is stepping down from his post, and Chaduri Chaduri, the national team’s technical adviser, will reportedly become the new coach of Klinsmann’s team.

“We have been discussing the national team coaching staff since August,” an official from the Korea Football Association said on Aug. 31, adding, “We are now somewhat organized and will soon announce the reorganization of the national team coaching staff once the process is completed.”

Based on Yonhap’s report, it appears that Michael Kim, born in 1973, will be parting ways with the national team.

Kim was appointed to coach the national team in August 2018 after the departure of Paulo Bento.

The Canadian national was the coach of the South Korean national team at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, and has since coached in professional soccer at Jeju United, Daejeon Hana Citizen, and Shanghai, China.

When Jürgen Klinsmann took over the reins of the national team at the end of the World Cup in Qatar last year, he was the only member of the ‘Ventojo’ coaching staff to remain on the Klinsmann boat.

Recently, Klinsmann was criticized for not being in the country and working from home more often than not. “You have no idea how many calls I make and how much contact I have with Chaduri and Coach Michael Kim,” Klinsmann said.

Chaduri will likely fill the void left by Michael Kim.

The son of former national coach Cha “Cha Boom” Beom-geun, Cha took over as the national team’s technical advisor upon the launch of the Cleanse in March of this year.

At the time, he was expected to stay with the national team until the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup in January 2024, but that could be extended if he is named coach in the latest coaching staff reshuffle.

Chaduri has the advantage of having worked with Hwang Sun-hong, the Asian Games coach, at the 2002 World Cup in Korea and Japan, so communication is expected to be smoother, and he can communicate directly with Klinsmann in German.

According to the KFA, “There will be some new faces in the coaching staff as a result of this reorganization,” and in addition to Klinsmann, the current coaching staff is expected to include head coach Andreas Harechok, assistant coach Paolo Stringara, goalkeeping coach Andreas Köpke, and physical coach Werner Reutard, while advisor Chaduri will be promoted to coach.

However, Michael Kim will reportedly help with the handover until October and will miss the national team’s September trip to England.

“The last thing we need is for Michael Kim to step down from the national team due to personal issues,” said an association official.

Since taking over the reins of the national team in February, Klinsmann has failed to win any of his four matches, drawing two and losing two, and has faced growing criticism for his expatriate working arrangements, so it will be interesting to see what changes will be made to Klinsmann’s coaching staff if Chaduri joins the team.

The squad will convene at Incheon Airport on September 4 and depart for England, 먹튀검증토토사이트 where they will play two friendlies against Wales and Saudi Arabia.
