POHANG’S ZECA EARNS FIRST INDIVIDUAL K LEAGUE PLAYER OF THE MONTH HONOR

Pohang Steelers forward Zeca has won the K League Player of the Month award for the first time. The Korea Football Association (KFA) announced today that Zeca was named the September winner of the EA Sports K League Player of the Month Award, sponsored by Electronic Arts (EA), the official video game partner of the K League. This is the first Player of the Month award for Zeca, who played for Daegu FC last year and Pohang this year. It is the third player of the month for Pohang after Wandelsson in August 2019 and Ilyuchenko in October 2020.

Zeca, who scored three goals in the September player evaluation period, rounds 29-32 of the K League One, beat out Go Jae-hyun, Vasellus (Daegu), and Ilyuchenko (Seoul) in the voting. The Player of the Month award is selected by first shortlisting the players who were voted Man of the Match (MOM), Best 11, and Most Valuable Player (MVP) in K League One matches held during the month through a vote of the Technical Committee of the Professional Football Association (60%).

These nominees are then subjected to a fan vote (25%) on the official K League website and a user vote (15%) on EA Sports FC Online, and the player with the highest combined score is awarded. Zeca topped both the Technical Committee vote (24.88%) and the FC Online user vote (7.36%), while the fan vote placed him second (8.26%) behind Ko Jae-hyun (12.03%), giving him the top spot in the combined score. Zeca will receive a trophy and 바카라사이트 cash prize from EA Sports.
