‘Ham Ji-hoon’s 18 points’ Hyundai Mobis wins over Samsung, improves to 5-0 on season

The Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus defeated the Seoul Samsung Thunder 77-69 in the first round of the 2023-2024 Korean Basketball Association regular season at Ulsan Dongcheon Gymnasium 토토사이트 on Monday.

Kebe Aluma led the way with 17 points and eight rebounds, while Ham Ji-hoon added 18 points, one rebound and nine assists.

Hyundai Mobis took an early lead in the first quarter with Prim and Coburn leading the way with Ham Ji-hoon in the middle. Back-to-back baskets by Ham Ji-hoon and Kim Ji-wan gave HMD the advantage. Samsung tried to close the gap with a three-pointer from Lee Jung-hyun, but ended the quarter with a five-point lead, 20-15.

In the second quarter, both teams piled on the points, led by Aluma and Coburn. With momentum on their side, Samsung took the lead with a three-pointer from Kim Si-rae. However, Aluma immediately responded with a blocked shot and Hyundai Mobis went into the half trailing by two points, 37-39.

Hyundai Mobis picked up the pace again in the third quarter. The long-rested Prim and Ham Ji-hoon made their presence felt, but Samsung took advantage of their opponent’s disorganization and tied the game with baskets from Lee Won-seok and Lee Jung-hyun. With their momentum down, Hyundai Mobis ended the third quarter tied at 52-52.

Hyundai Mobis started the fourth quarter with Aluma as the offense’s solution and Samsung tried to keep the momentum going, but they struggled from the field for more than three minutes. Then, Ham Ji-hoon made a free throw and Kim Ji-wan scored back-to-back baskets to extend the lead. At the end of the quarter, Kim Kook-chan scored a three-pointer off a pass from Ham Ji-hoon. With 2:30 left in the quarter, the score was 68-56, a 12-point lead.

The game ended with a 77-69 Hyundai Mobis victory.
