Takchun Group, a leading Macau investor in gambling junkets, is preparing to open a VIP gaming club at the Nagaworld Casino Resort Complex (pictured) in Phnom Penh, Cambodia’s capital.
“Our VIP club in Nagarwold, Cambodia, will officially open to the public in mid-February,” Takchun CEO Le Bon Chan reported.
The announcement did not clarify whether the new club is in the original naga world building, which opened in November 2017, or in the nearby naga2.
“We promise to further establish our presence in the Southeast Asian market with our operations in Manila, Philippines, and Da Nang, Vietnam,” Takchun’s Chan was quoted as saying.
The Takchun statement was released on Friday and announced the relocation and reopening of the junket-branded VIP club at Macau City of Dream Casino Resort.
It said the latter’s relaunch was attended by City of Dreams Macau Real Estate President David Sisk, Melco Resorts International Marketing and VIP Joseph Tang, and Takchun shareholder representatives.
The club moved to the second floor of City of Dreams Macau. According to the data, Macau has six game rooms and 14 game tables.
The Takchun statement noted that the company had paid so-called “daily bonuses” to all employees ahead of the Lunar New Year last week.
Cambodia’s NagaWorld Casino Resort is operated by Naga Corp Ltd. The expansion of the complex with the launch of Naga 2 in November 2017 allowed casino operators to increase total gaming revenue by about 94% over the next nine months, the company said.
The Hong Kong-listed company in October said rolling chip sales in its VIP table gaming division rose 128% to more than $25.03 billion in the first quarter of 2018.
The Potential of Nagarwold’s Business – Nagarwold, which has a long-term monopoly on the Phnom Penh market at a time of China’s growing commercial investment in Cambodia, has seen several of Macau’s biggest junket brands move into the complex. Guangdong Group started piloting at least 10 tables in early January, and SunCity Group told GGRAsia that it has been managing Nagar2’s VIP facilities since early last year.
Takcheon currently operates 17 VIP game clubs in Macau, and five VIP game clubs in other regions.
